Saul Griffith, PhD: Co-Founder of Otherlab. Saul is an engineer/entrepreneur who works principally on new hardware technologies. Saul has a PhD from MIT in stuff that sounds like science and engineering. Saul is a regular keynote speaker at tech conferences, founder/co-founder of 7 companies, and loves bicycles and sailing in all its unconventional forms.

Pete Lynn: CSO (Chief Seamstress Officer). Masters level mechanical engineer specializing in alternative energy. Expert in kite design and light weight flexible structures, currently working on inflatable robotics. Mechanical designer, prototyper, and disruptive developer.

Martin Wicke, PhD: does geometry and physics. After completing his PhD at ETH Zurich, he held positions at Stanford University and UC Berkeley, researching simulation, geometric modeling, computational geometry, and sensor networks.
.

Tucker Gilman: applies degrees in physics and mechanical engineering as well as skills in CAD, CNC, and traditional woodwork to further develop the process of object creation. In his previous life he sailed boats and chased mountain goats.

.

Louise Fox: is a mechanical engineer. As an undergraduate she was co-president of her university’s chapter of Engineers without Borders where she designed and built low-cost portable wind turbines. Louise enjoys the intersections between engineering, art, and music.

Interns

Siddharth Sanand: is doing his PhD at the Robotics Institute at CMU. He is interested in making robots soft and safe to enable physical human robot interaction. On the other side, he has been sewing together various ideas on inflatable robots and actuators.

Geoffrey Irving, PhD: received his PhD from Stanford University in Physical Simulation. He has worked in various areas from computer graphics (Pixar and Weta Digital) to molecule dynamics. His other interests include programing languages and compilers, high performance computation, and games.

Sam Calisch: is an applied mathematician interested in geometry, optimization, and finding ways to use them for good and fun in the world. When he's not dreaming of a Lie algebra to understand the brain, he can be found cooking, sewing, or trail running.
